Siasia invites Ighalo, Iheanacho, 40 others for Egypt

Super Eagles interim Coach, Samson Siasia, has invited Watford’s Odion Ighalo, Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho among the 42 players listed for the double header against Egypt billed for March 25 and 29.

The list is made up of 22 home-based and 20 foreign based players.

Regulars Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Olufemi Thomas, Kalu Orji Okogbue, Austin Oboroakpo, Chima Akas, Ezekiel Bassey and Chisom Chikatara are in the home based mix, while Carl Ikeme, Efe Ambrose, Elderson Echiejile, Godfrey Oboabona, Kenneth Omeruo, John Mikel Obi, Ogenyi Onazi, Ahmed Musa, Victor Moses, Odion Ighalo, Moses Simon and Fanendo Adi are among the overseas –based legion.

The 22 home –boys are expected to hit camp at the Bolton White Apartments, Abuja on Sunday, March 6 before the overseas –based boys arrive as from Sunday, March 20.

Siasia also craved for the support of Nigerians and the press so that the task would be achieveable.
“We will do everything humanly possible to make sure that we emerged victorious in both legs,” he said.
He also asked the Nigeria Football Federation to suspend the Nigeria Premier League to give time for ample preparation.

“I know a little bit of the of Egyptians, we played six of them at the U-23 Nations Cup in Senegal. And their is no way they will not fall in Kaduna.

Siasia stressed that the homebased list would soon be out adding that more home based players are being invited because of the hot weather Kaduna.
“Any foreign based that cannot last the weather will be quickly replaced by the home based,” he said.
