Siasia picks Etebo, 5 home-based for Egypt

Super Eagles Head Coach, Samson Siasia, has settled for six home-based players that will compete for shirts with their foreign-based colleagues in the back-to-back ties against Egypt.

Leading the pack is Africa U-23 highest goalscorer, Etebo Oghenekaro, and goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa.

Other players are Orji Kalu, Chibuzor Okonkwo, Mathew Etim and Ifeanyi Matthew.

A total of 22 domestic league players have been in camp in the past two weeks in Abuja in preparation for the crucial games taking place within four days.

Kaduna is the venue of the first encounter billed for March 25 at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium while the second one takes place in Alexandria on March 29.

Super Eagles Media Officer, Toyin Ibitoye, told our correspondent that all was set for the last lap preparation for the game.

The foreign professionals are expected to fully be in camp today for the first full training session in Abuja.

“We are going to have two training sessions before leaving Abuja. One on Monday evening and the other on Tuesdaymorning,” Ibitoye said.

Twenty foreign-based professionals are expected to join the team following the injury sustained by Leon Balogun and Kenneth Omeruo
