Trump issues orders to Mexico over protesting asylum seekers

Controversial US President Donald Trump has told Mexico to send asylum seekers and refugees who have arrived near the San Ysidro port of entry, to their homes with immediate effect.

The order by Trump follows unrest and a march by refugees which turned chaotic when US agents fired tear gas at them near the port of entry.

He said Mexico should to everything to send the Central Americans, mostly Hondurans, back to their bases.

“Mexico should move the flag waving Migrants, many of whom are stone cold criminals, back to their countries. Do it by plane, do it by bus, do it anyway you want, but they are NOT coming into the U.S.A. We will close the Border permanently if need be. Congress, fund the WALL!” Trump tweeted.

Trump’s comments came after Mexico security officials arrested no less than 39 asylum seekers who tried to breach its border with the US.

Mexico authorities have also pledged to increase security near its border crossings and said it will deport some of the 500 asylum seekers who attempted to breach the US border.
