The Nigerian Government on Wednesday pulled out of the ongoing World Economic Forum in Cape Town, South Africa.

The action was in response to the fresh xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and other non-indigenes by citizens of South Africa.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s aide on new media, Bashir Ahmad confirmed this in a tweet on his Twitter handle on Wednesday.

He said, “Yes sir, Nigerian government has boycotted the World Economic Forum holding in Cape Town, South Africa, but some individuals from Nigeria including a former Minister are attending on their own.”
