Youths kill four Shiites, burn leader’s house in Kaduna
It was another bloody day in Kaduna on Tuesday as youths in the Tudun Wada community in the city attacked and killed four suspected members of the Shiite sect while also and setting the residence of the leader of the group ablaze.
According to witnesses, the Shiite’s school in the area was also demolished.
The incident a day after security agencies stopped a planned procession by Shiites members.
Confirming the attack, a leader of the sect said: “It’s the police that ordered the youths to attack us and to destroy our buildings.
“We shall address a press conference to give account of our encounter later,” he said.
However, an attempt by the sect to address a press conference proved abortive as journalists at the Nigerian Union of Journalists in Kaduna stayed away.
