Former governor of Taraba State, Danbaba Suntai, is dead.
He died five years after a private aircraft he was flying from Jalingo to Yola crashed on October 25, 2012, in Adamawa State.
Suntai however remained incapacitated after surviving the crash, leading to his removal as governor, after a lot of political intrigues.
He is said to have died while undergoing brain surgery sustained from the crash.
His death was confirmed on Wednesday by the state’s former Commissioner of Information under Suntai’s administration, Mr. Emmanuel Bello.
Suntai, born on June 30, was elected as executive governor of Taraba State, under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) platform in April 2007, and was sworn in on 29 May 2007.
He ran successfully for re-election on 26 April 2011, before the accident.
