Barcelona emerged winners of the 2017-18 Copa del Rey title after producing a masterclass to beat Sevilla in the final on Saturday night.

The triumph meant the Ernesto Valverde side have won the title for the fourth successive season.

Luis Suarez opened the scoring 14 minutes into the game when he tapped home Philippe Coutinho’s pass.

The lead was doubled by Messi on the half-hour mark, and the Argentine assisted Suarez to net his second of the night 5 minutes before the break.

Barcelona continued dominating after the break as Andres Iniesta scored the fourth goal, before Philippe Coutinho’s penalty completed the rout.

Sevilla, who had beaten Atletico Madrid on their way to the final, were completely outplayed as Barca win their first trophy since Valverde took charge of the team in May 2017.

Barca have won the Copa del Rey 30 times in total.

Also, the La Liga leaders are one win away from the league title, and could complete the domestic double on Sunday if second-placed Atletico Madrid lose to Real Betis.
