Costa 'not upset' with Conte

Diego Costa has explained he is ‘not upset’ and has ‘no bitterness’ towards Chelsea Coach, Antonio Conte, following his move to Atletico Madrid.

The Chelsea Coach was alleged to have texted the Spain international striker at the start of summer to tell him to find a new club, with the striker later saying he felt he was being ‘treated like a criminal’.

Chelsea and Atletico secured a deal, estimated to be worth up to €65million, on Thursday, with Costa set to undergo a medical and agree personal terms before finalising a reunion with Diego Simeone’s side.

“Everybody knows how much I love the fans,” Costa was quoted by Diario AS of telling reporters as he made his way through Sao Paulo airport to board a Madrid-bound flight.

“I’m not upset with anybody and I hold no bitterness towards anyone, everything is fine.”

Costa will be in Madrid to complete his move today (Friday), but he will be unable to feature for the club until January, 2018.
