C’wealth Games: Obazuaye wins silver in women’s TT6-10; Quadri reaches final
In what appears to be another bright day for Team Nigeria at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Faith Obazuaye claimed the silver medal in the Women’s TT6-10 Singles event on Saturday morning,
Obazuaye has enjoyed an impeccable outing at the Gold Coast competition, having kept a clean slate through the rounds before succumbing to a 3-1 defeat in the final.
The Nigerian athlete secured an emphatic 3-0 win over Australia’s Andrea McDonnell, 3-0 over India’s Vaishnavi Sutar, 3-0 over Canada’s Stephanie Chan and 3-0 over England’s Felicity Pickard in her first to fourth game respectively.

But in the final, she fell against Australia’s Melissa Tapper by losing 7-11, 11-2, 11-6, 11-13.
She started brightly, picking the first set 11-7 but Tapper blew her away by winning the next three sets.
Meanwhile, top seed, Aruna Quadri, scaled through the semifinals of the men’s Singles event on Saturday.
He will face Singapore’s Ning Gao in the Gold Medal Match on Sunday.
