#GC2018: Nigerian women’s 4x100m relay team bags bronze; 4x400m team wins silver
Team Nigeria increased their medals haul at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Australia as the women’s 4x100m relay team finished third place to win bronze on Saturday morning.
Joy Udo-Gabriel, Blessing Okagbare, Tobi Amusan and Rosemary Chukwuma are members of the team, and they completed the race in 42.75 seconds.
England finished in 42.36 seconds to win gold while Jamaica settled for silver with a 42.52 seconds finish.
Meanwhile, in the men’s final, Nigeria’s 4x100m relay team of Seye Ogunlewe, Ogho-Oghene Egwero, Usheoritse Itsekiri, and Enoch Adegoke were disqualified.
The 4x400m women’s team did well also to retain their Silver medal from four years ago in Glasgow while competing in the final of the event on Saturday morning.
Patience Okon-George, Glory Nathaniel, Praise Idamadudu and Yinka Ajayi are members of the team who brought home the baton in 3:25.29 in 2nd place.
Jamaica retained the title with a time of 3:24.00.
