FAAC : Stalemate continues over NNPC remittances

The key issue that stalled May edition of Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) is yet to be resolved it emerged last night.

A re- convened FAAC meeting held yesterday night at the Auditorium of Federal Ministry of Finance with parties unable to reach agreement several hours after members went in to closed door session. The meeting adjourned at about 7.40 pm without sharing of funds.

An insider, who spoke to New Telegraph on anonymous condition, said:”States are unable to reach agreement with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) on amount to share” , adding that , ” the meeting is postponed to Thursday ( tomorrow)”.

No FAAC attendees was willing to offer explanation to journal- ists on reasons for the stalemate. Yesterday’s adjournment was second in two weeks.
