For the second time in two weeks, Ooni leads S/West monarchs to meet Buhari

Insecurity challenges in Southwest real, Ooni declares

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, on Wednesday led other South West traditional rulers to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari at the President’s office in Abuja.

The meeting came after the Ooni had earlier on July 18, visited Buhari at the Presidential Villa on behalf of traditional rulers from the South West.

He had during that visit explained to the President that the insecurity situation in South West is real and needed urgent attention.

Ooni, who had also warned that the South West region did not want war, had also told State House correspondents that President Buhari was going to direct security agencies to collaborate with locals in South West towards flushing out bad eggs and threats to peace in the region.

Details of this Wednesday meeting with the President were still being expected when this report was filed.
