Shettima arrives in New York for 79th UNGA
Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in New York, the United States as head of Nigeria’s delegation to the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications (Office of The Vice President), Stanley Nkwocha, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.
Shettima, according to the statement, touched down at John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, in the early hours of Monday.

He was received at the airport by top Nigerian officials, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, his Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy counterpart, Dr. Bosun Tijani, and the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa.
The Vice President will deliver Nigeria’s national statement, engage in high-level meetings, and tackle pressing global challenges such as climate change, poverty, inequality, conflicts, and health crises.
