Tiwa Savage pushes Davido others aside to make history

Mavin Records female songstress Tiwa Savage is currently reveling in excitement after she was named the winner of MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMAs) in the Best African Act category during the 2018 awards ceremony held on Sunday night at the Bizkaia Arena, Bilbao in Spain.

The mother of one who currently has a songwriting deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing emerged the winner of the category ahead of Davido and other acts like Distruction Boyz (South Africa), Fally Ipupa (DRC), Nyashinski (Kenya) and Shekinah (South Africa).

Reacting to her latest feat, Tiwa took to her Instagram page to dedicate the win to African women and aspiring young girls.

She wrote; “Almighty God, you are so faithful. My savage soldiers did it for me.
“You have stuck with me through the roller coasters. Thank you. To my amazing team, this is just the beginning. African women, this is for us.

“I have been through a lot but I have kept my head up and weathered the storm because I know some little girl somewhere is dreaming as I did,” Tiwa said.
