Court orders INEC to recognise Nehemiah as LP governorship candidate in Ondo
Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Friday, ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognize Chief Olusola Nehemiah as the Labour Party governorship candidate in Ondo State.
The judge issued the order while ruling in a suit filed by Nehemiah and his running mate, Ezekiel Awude.
He ordered the commission to accord the duo the recognition, rights, and privileges as LP governorship candidates in the November 16 governorship election in Ondo State.

The judge held that the second primary election conducted by LP and produced Nehemiah and Awude was valid and must be upheld by INEC.
He said evidence showed that Nehemiah paid N20 million into LP’s account in the United Bank for Africa (UBA) for a nomination form and was duly issued a form for the primary election.
Justice Nwite faulted the party’s national leadership for rejecting the primary election that produced the two men having met all conditions set for the exercise.
