Juan Cuadrado's exit key moment for Victor Moses –Mikel says

Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi has commented on the current incredible form of Chelsea team mate and fellow Nigeria International Victor Moses, saying that it was a turning point for Moses’ career when Juan Cuadrado left Chelsea for Juventus.

Moses, who was named the PFA fans’ player of the month for November, has been enjoying a brilliant campaign this season under Coach Antonio Conte, whose 3-4-3 formation has helped the Blues to the top of the league table with 40 points.

Cuadrado left Chelsea for Juventus on a three-year loan deal in the summer transfer window just months after the appointment of Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge. And Mikel believes the Colombian international could have been the best fit for Moses’ place in Conte’s formation.

“It was a key moment when Cuadrado went back to Juventus – Victor knew that as well,” Mikel told newsmen.

“There was a chance Cuadrado would have had the right wing-back role instead, but he wanted to leave Chelsea.

“The situation with Cuadrado made it easier for Victor, but he had already impressed in pre-season by that stage,” he stated.

Speaking further, Mikel reveals that Moses’ facial appearance and how he relates with everyone have changed overtime even at the training ground.

“This is the happiest I have seen Victor at the club,” he added. “You can really the notice the change in him at the training ground.

“Whereas in previous years, he could be a bit quiet, now he is making more jokes and laughing with everyone.”

Mikel, who hasn’t played for the Club this season, may likely leave when the transfer window opens in January. While some reports have suggested that he will be transferred on loan by Chelsea, some others have claimed the 29-year-old will be moving alongside teammate Oscar to the republic of China.
