Man City now two wins away from EPL triumph after victory at Stoke

English Premier League runaway leaders, Manchester City have restored their 16-point lead on the table after a David Silva brace earned them a win at Stoke on Monday night.

The Pep Guardiola side are targeting a record finish, currently standing with 81 points and needing just two more wins to be crowned league champions.

Silva opened the scoring on Monday night when he slotted in Raheem Sterling’s cross ten minutes into the game, before finishing off a passing move five minutes after the break to seal the victory.

Stoke had their moments in the game, but could not just find the back of the net.

The struggling side remain in the relegation zone having failed to pick up a win in six matches, which keeps them one point adrift of safety.

City have Everton and Manchester United respectively to play in their next two league encounters. If they win at Goodison Park by the end of March, they could seal the title on derby day with a win over city rivals, United.
