Senate to debate $1bn Boko Haram fund today

The Senate will, at the plenary on Thursday (today), debate the proposed withdrawal of $1bn from the Excess Crude Account by the Federal Government to fight Boko Haram insurgency.

The PUNCH had exclusively reported on Sunday that strong indications had emerged that the Senate might move against the decision by the Federal Government to withdraw $1bn from the ECA

Several members of the upper chamber of the National Assembly who spoke to SUNDAY PUNCH in different interviews condemned both the money and the account.
