The former lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial district in the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani, has dismissed claims by immediate past governor of the state, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, that he single handedly delivered Kaduna State votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election in the state.

The former FCT Minister had, during an interview on Arise TV on Monday, said he used his position to deliver massive votes for Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the election but was disappointed that the President backtracked on making him a minister after his sacrifice for him.

However, Sani, while reacting to the comments by El-Rufai, said the former governor was only trying to tell lies about working for Tinubu in the last presidential election.

In a post he shared on his verified X handle on Tuesday, Sani posted results of the presidential election for the state, showing the performance of the top three contenders in the election which proved that it was the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar that won the state.

“In case anyone from Kaduna State tries to lie that he delivered Tinubu in the 2023 Presidential election and he is entitled, this was the result;

Atiku 554,360k
Tinubu 399,294k
Peter Obi who was denied the use of Arewa House after paying for it pulled 294,494k,” Sani wrote.
