Ex UI VC, Bamiro shot in aborted Kidnap attempt
Professor Olufemi Bamiro, a former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan (UI), was shot in Ibadan on Tuesday evening by gunmen after their attempt to kidnap him was unsuccessful.
According to a top police source the incident happened at Oluyole area of Ibadan. The victim has been admitted in the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, for treatment.
Oyo State Police Command spokesman, Mr Adekunle Ajisebutu, confirmed the incident.
