FG, Ogun bicker over N20bn Ikorodu-Shagamu road

There are indications that bickering between the federal and Ogun State governments over what accrues to the state on the palliative done is delaying the take-off of the N20 billion Ikorodu-Shagamu road rehabilitation projects.

New Telegraph gathered that almost two months after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) approved N20 billion for the rehabilitation of the major highway, its contractor is yet to move to site.

According to a resident of Ogijo, a town along the route, Mr. Ayotunde Onabanjo, the state government was trying to intervene in the road’s rehabilitation when it mobilised PW Nigeria to commence the repair of some bad portions of the road in Ogijo two weeks before the central authority’s announcement came.

Onabanjo noted that immediately the FEC announced the approval of N20 billion for the road’s rehabilitation, PW Nigeria stopped work and moved out its equipment from the road.
