The travails of former Chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team, Mr Abdulrasheed Maina, has continued to throw up new revelations.

Maina in an exclusive video interview with Channels Television has narrated that President Muhammadu Buhari approved a meeting between himself and Nigeria’s Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, and that they met somewhere outside the country.

Maina, who stated that he was cleared by the country’s security agencies ahead of the talks, also revealed that he gave the minister documents reveling how corrupt officials siphon about N1.3 trillion Naira from the government’s coffers yearly.

“When this government came in, the President went and gave his nod that ‘go and sit down with Maina. I have given you the approval’. They sat down with me after the security agencies cleared me of any wrongdoing,” he said.

He continued, that “As soon as this current government decided to sit with me, and after sitting with me, I decided that ‘I will not leave you to go back to Nigeria with empty pocket, I’m going to give you something to put in your pocket’. And the Minister of Justice laughed, and said ‘what are you going to give us?’”

“I said ‘I’m going to give you guys a gift’. What is the gift? I gave him a document and said ‘Go here, here, here, here… there’s N1.3 trillion, they are going to steal it because they have been stealing it every year’.”

He said although the minister was shocked at his revelation and the amount involved, he did not believe that the document was authentic.

“When I gave them that, the minister thought it was not possible. When he got back, he realised I gave him a correct information.”

Maina who has been declared wanted under the last administration, went into hiding, only to by reinstated, and promoted within the civi service.

When this was exposed, President Buhari ordered for his immediate sack, and he again went into hiding, from where he has been making revelations.

He has also asked the government for immunity from arrest, to enable him appear before the House of Representatives that has summoned him, insisting that he would expose the corrupt officials in the Buhari administration.

I think Buhari should not toy with the information Maina has in his head, Buhari should set up a meeting with this man, he can be useful for the country’s development

Despite this claim, how come malami or anyone never mentioned this? Maina is trying to give himself credit and make us think he’s different from what we know him to be.

Maina is not actually as bad as he’s being portrayed in the media, he was declared wanted in past government and he has decided to make himself useful in this government, Buhari should governor him a change and not neglect him totally

This man is an arrogant fool who believes that he can insult our intelligence on top of the stealing spree he carried out . And of course, the APC government of deceit and hypocrisy is too complicit in the matter to do anything decisive. Rubbish!!!!
