Nigerians who are eager to know the names of those who made President Muhammadu BUhari’s ministerial list will still have to be patient till Tuesday October 4, 2015.
A statement for the Special Adviser to the Senate President (Media and Publicity) Yusuph Olaniyonu stated, that the list of ministerial nominees was received yesterday evening, and that it submitted in a sealed envelope by Chief of Staff to the President, Alhaji Abba Kyari and Senator Ita Enang, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Legislative Matters (Senate).
“Dr. Saraki has, following the tradition of the Senate, decided that the envelope will remain sealed till Tuesday October 6, when during the plenary sitting of the Upper legislative chamber, it will be opened and the list read to Senators”, the statement read.

Ripples however gathered that the list made up of 21 nominees include the names of former governors Babatunde Fashola (Lagos), Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti) Chris Ngige (Anambra) and the former national chairman of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), Ogbonnaya Onu (Abia).
Others on the list according to sources are: Amina Mohammed; A former commissioner of Ogun State, Kunle Adeosun; Malami Abubakar (SAN) a one-time APC governorship flag bearer in Taraba, Aisha Alhassan and the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Ibe Kachikwu who is expected to function as a junior minister in the Petroleum ministry with President Buhari as minister.

The president also confirmed in his Independence Day speech that the list is the first set, and that subsequent lists would be forwarded later.

On the anxiety the wait for the naming of ministers has created, Buhari said, “Anyway, the wait is over. The first set of names for ministerial nominees for confirmation has been sent to the senate. Subsequent lists will be forwarded in due course. Impatience is not a virtue. Order is more vital than speed. Careful and deliberate decisions after consultations get far better results”.
