Ligue 1 giants, Paris St-Germain regained the league title after an emphatic 7-1 victory over defending champions Monaco at the Parc des Princes on Sunday.

The win gives PSG an unassailable 17-point lead over second-placed Monaco, and so they wrap up a fifth Ligue 1 title in six years.

Giovani lo Celso and Angel di Maria both scored twice while Edinson Cavani and Julian Draxler were also on target.

Radamel Falcao scored an own goal as Rony Lopes netted a consolation for Monaco in a one-sided contest.

The Unai Emery side, who crashed out of the Champions League in the round of 16 against Real Madrid, have now completed a domestic double, having won the Coupe de La Ligue by beating Monaco 3-0 in the final late last month.

Monaco clinched their first title in 17 years in the 2016-17 season, with Falcao and French teenager Kylian Mbappe at their very best.

Although Falcao remained with Monaco, Mbappe and other key players such as defender Benjamin Mendy left the club last summer.

Mbappe joined PSG, where he contributed much alongside Brazilian superstar Neymar, and has now won the French title with different clubs in two consecutive seasons.
