AAG: Buhari hails second-place Team Nigeria

President Muhammad Buhari has praised the Team Nigeria athletes for their heroic feat at the All Africa Games just concluded in Congo Brazzaville.
Buhari who expressed satisfaction with the athletes for coming second on the overall medals table, urged them to make Nigeria proud by constantly improving on their performance.
In a press statement issued on Sunday in Abuja by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr Garba Shehu, the president said he was impressed with the performance of Nigerian athletes at the continental event, and that he was not in doubt about their zeal and determination to make Nigeria great.
The statement said the president expressed joy at the performance of the various teams that made up Team Nigeria adding that they all made Nigeria proud.

The 11th All African Games came to a close on Saturday night in Congo Brazzaville, with Team Nigeria clinching the second position in the overall medals table.
At the close of competitive games on Friday night, Nigeria had pushed South Africa to the third position having won 47 gold medals.
On the final medals table, Egypt emerged overall best with a total of 217 medals.
The breakdown shows 85 gold, 64 silver and 68 bronze medals.
South Africa came third with a total of 122 medals – 41 gold, 41 silver and 40 bronze medals.
