RECALL: Melaye still in trouble as A’Court disappoints him

An Abuja high court on Thursday temporarily restrained INEC from recalling Dino Melaye, the senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District of Kogi State,

The presiding judge, Justice John Tsoho, ordered both INEC and Melaye to “maintain the status quo” with respect to the suit filed by Melaye challenging efforts to recall him by his constituents.

Senator Melaye had approached the court to stop INEC from continuing the process to recall him after the electoral commission received required signatories from Kogi West senatorial district, the senator’s constituent, demanding for his recall.

In his suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/587/2017, Melaye had described the recall petitions as fictitious. He prayed the court to declare the petitions submitted to the chairman of INEC, Prof. Yakubu Mahmood, as “illegal, unlawful, wrongful, unconstitutional, invalid, null, void and of no effect whatsoever”.

Justice Tsoho, who fixed September 29, for the hearing of the said motion, further directed that all the parties maintain status quo pending the hearing of the senator’s motion seeking an interlocutory injunction to hear the recall process.

The order of the judge is coming as INEC had on Monday released the timetable for the recall process.

The latest twist in the unfolding drama is sure to intensify the intrigues surrounding the rift between the embattled senator and the governor of his state, whom Melaye’s claims is behind the recall moves.

Hmmmmmmm. Nigeria where the judiciary are nothing but corruption. September 29 is extremely far, this is how they will drag the matter till Dino will spend his four years and even contest for another.
This is why Biafra must go

I know this will be the aftermath of the whole thing. Court injunction over the fundamanetal human rights of the citizens! What a hellish judiciary we have in Nigeria that only cares for the high and the rich

Don’t worry Yanju, very soon our judiciary will get shape, Baba Buhari won’t relent until he flush out all those corrupt judges.

In a land where there is no law, a corrupt senator will always win any case with his influence. I expected this nonsense from our judiciary. The own system is so wrong and it will take Nigeria to no where

This is why you should all join hands with us in the fight for Biafra. Biafra is a land of justice where there’s zero tolerance for injustice and strict checks on public officers. Nigeria is messed up, stop believing in a country that won’t change for better

Melaye knows how to bribe his way out of any mess, this isn’t different from other ‘situations’. 2019 is almost here, I’m patiently waiting for all of them to get out of the house
