Buhari meets APC lawmakers-elect, as security operatives shut NASS

Just in from his visit to Germany, President Muhammadu Buhari is holding a meeting with federal legislators elected on the platform of the APC, to resolve the crisis that has engulfed the party over the battle for top seats in the National Assembly.

Meanwhile, security operatives manning the entrance to the National Assembly have barred members of staff of the National Assembly, journalists and others seeking entry into the complex from getting in.

Many people got to the National Assembly as early as 6: am but even lawmakers and top management staff of the Assembly were also turned back.

The police operatives at the gate popularly referred to as SGF gate, which many people turned to after they were blocked from the main gate, told people gathered that the inauguration has been called off.

According to them, ‎the order to shut down the assembly came from the FCT commissioner.

Buhari’s meeting with the APC lawmakers-elect held an hour before the inauguration of the 8th legislature, which was scheduled for 10am today (Tuesday) in the National Assembly complex, Abuja.
