Buhari seeks Senate approval for $200million loan for Lagos

Lagos State may soon begin to enjoy its status as the epicenter of the Nigeria’s economy as the Federal Government has indicated its willingness to facilitate a loan of 200million dollar for it.

To this end, President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the Senate requesting for its approval to obtain the loan from World Bank.

The World Bank had in 2010 offered a Development Police Operation Facility worth $600m to the state to be operated in three tranches of $200m per annum

The Senate president, Bukola Saraki, read the letter to the Senators on Tuesday.

Buhari also addressed a letter to the Senate President for the approval of the Senate for the confirmation of Babatunde Fowler as the Chairman of Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS) and Ahmed Lawan Kuru as Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria boss.

Also nominated for the same position were Kola Ayeye, Eberechukwu Uneze and Aminu Ismael.

Professor Garba Danbata was also nominated as the Chairman of Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC).
