Dictatorship: PDP chieftain, Ogbeha, defends Buhari

Contrary to the strongly-held belief in some quarters that President Muhammadu Buhari has been behaving like a dictator since assuming office, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State, Senator Tunde Ogheha, has said that the assessment was wrong.

Buhari has come under intense criticisms since assuming office on May 29, especially from PDP members who claimed that his actions so far were dictatorial.

But while addressing journalists on Sunday in Lokoja, Kogi State, Ogbeha maintained that it was too early to assess Buhari and therefore advised Nigerians to be patience for at least two years before passing any judgment on him.

He said the president has just spent more than 100 days in office and the period would not be enough to assess him.

“I think it’s too early to start assessing him, he has four years to go. He has barely done 100 days, how can I assess him? But maybe when he reaches his mid-term after two years, we will be able to know what he has done and what he is capable of doing,” the two-term Senator said.
