Chairman of Ovia South West local government area of Edo state, Destiny Enabulele, was on Monday harassed at the reception of the 80th birthday of Chief John Oyegun.

Enabulele was attending the event which was held at the ISO event centre at Ikponkpa road, when the private security guards hired for the event harassed him.

The guards had asked Enabulele to present the access card inviting him for the event when the scuffle began.

Attempts by his aides to introduce him were rebuffed by the guards who insisted on seeing the access card before they allowed him in.

Aides to Enabulele were forcefully pushed out and prevented from entering the reception.

It was not until the protocol officer, who knew Enabulele, intervened that the situation was brought under control and he was allowed into the reception venue while his aide was locked outside.

Others at the event were the national chairman of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, and the Edo State Chairman of the party, Dan Orbih.

Prominent APC members absent at the occasion include President Muhammadu Buhari, Bola Tinubu and the APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomole, among others.
