FG replaces two AIB directors

Non ownership of national carrier costs Nigeria $1.5bn yearly loss

The Federal Government has approved the appointment of two new directors for the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) to replace some of those sacked recently.

They are Engr. Hashimu Ilyasu Wali ( Engineering) and Capt. Dayyabu Mustapha Danraka (Operations).
The Minister of State Aviation, Hadi Sirika, in a statement on Wednesday said the appointments were with immediate effect, adding that it is part of the re-positioning of the industry towards new challenges.

But before their appointments, Capt. Danraka was the Bureau’s General Manager, Operations, while Engr. Wali was an Aviation Safety Inspector with Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

The appointments follow the expiration of the tenures of former director of Engineering, Engr. Emmanuel Diala and Director of Operations Capt. Yusuf Lawal.
