Fresh Start: Kwara’s Gov Ahmed sacks entire cabinet

Governor Ahmed of Kwara State, on Monday sacked his state executive council, including Special Advisers, Senior Special‎ Assistants, Special Assistants, Liaison Officers and Youth Employment Coordinators.

Also affected according to the statement‎ issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Alh Isiaka Gold are all boards of government owned companies, commissions, parastatals and organisations other than those of statutory status.

The dissolution is with immediate effect.

Governor Ahmed who was re-elected in the March 11, governorship election also directed the commissioners to hand over government’s properties in their custody to permanent secretaries, while heads of other MDAS must hand over to the most senior officer in their establishment.

‎Meantime, the governor thanked all the affected political office holders for what he described as their immeasurable ‎contributions to the success of his administration in the last four years and wished them success in their future endeavours.

    I hope its actually a move to serve Kwarans, not that its time for some other people to chop. He should reduce the size of the cabinet too.
