Louis van Gaal laments as Man United suffers home defeat

Louis van Gaal believes it is not up to him whether he is given more time to turn Manchester United’s fortunes around.

Man United suffered their third successive defeat following a 2-1 loss against Norwich City in the Premier League on Saturday.

Van Gaal was already under huge pressure at Old Trafford and the loss against the Canaries seems to have been the final straw for many of the club’s supporters. Van Gaal admitted he does not know if he will be afforded patience with United’s board.

When asked about the subject, he said: “It’s not up to me I think to say about that question but we shall see.”

Discontent among fans was building but Saturday’s result has seen many lose patience with the veteran manager.

Results haven’t been good enough, the players look disinterested and United are out of the Capital One Cup and the Champions League.

United may look to let van Gaal go sooner rather than later. If they don’t, it may be too late to rescue what is already a deeply disappointing season.
