Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria partners Netpreneur360 USA on digital music marketing

The Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria (MCSN) is seeking a rebirth after a near three-decade long bid for its approval as a collecting society after sealing a partnership with Netpreneur360 Inc. USA, to organize a free digital marketing workshop for musicians.

Tagged “DIGITAL MARKETING SURVIVAL BOOTCAMP FOR MUSICIANS”, the training is aimed at enabling Nigerian musicians understand how to better exploit the internet marketplace for their music careers, talents and works.

According to Mr. Mayo Ayilaran, the Director General of MCSN, Nigerian musicians are in for a new deal as they can now move beyond mere slogans to a situation where they can actually get their music to give them prosperity without waiting for any agent or label.

Speaking on the free training, which will be staged this August, Ayilaran said; “the free online exercise is another way the MCSN is trying to ensure that Nigerian musicians make not just a living from their careers, but learn to use the internet to position themselves to make money, contacts and improve their brands just like their counterparts in other parts of the world.”

Among other things, Dr. Ope Banwo, the Chief Trainer for Netpreneur360 USA, who is also the Founder of American Internet Business School, said that participants in the one-day cyber workshop will learn: “How to create an irresistible online presence for their music and artistic talents. Be taught online guerrilla marketing strategies for the up and coming musicians, even without a record label or artiste managers and learn how to create an effective music marketing funnel for increasing their fan base and maximizing sales on the internet and other useful tips.”

Also Speaking on the upcoming cyber workshop, its Chief Host, Mr. Orits Williki, a front-line Nigerian Musician and leader of the MCSN, said his society came up with the cyber workshop in conjunction with Netprenuer360 USA in a bid to empower Nigerian musicians to enhance their career and also make good money.

Recall that in April, MCSN officially became an official collecting body approved by the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC), following a directive issued by the attorney-general of the federation, Abubakar Malami.

After its approval, the MCSN had also sought to prevent the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) from claiming to be the only body empowered by law to be Nigeria’s collection establishment.
