Nigeria's first delivery app, GIGGo, set for launch

Nigeria’s tech and logistics space is set to welcome GIGGo, an App specially designed to ensure faster and reliable deliveries. The solution is a product of Nigeria’s foremost logistics company, GIG Logistics, a subsidiary of the GIG Group.

Tech enthusiasts and stakeholders within the nation’s logistics sector are expected to gather on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, at GIG Logistics Digital Hub, Gbagada for the product launch.

GIG Logistics prides itself as a technology-focused logistics company, simplifying delivery services across Africa.

A sneak preview of GIGGo shows it is designed to ensure faster and reliable deliveries, eliminating the need to leave one’s comfort zone or wait endlessly to dispatch items. It holds the promise of delivering convenience by simply tapping to send shipments on the GO. The app is built to support the growth of social/e-commerce in Nigeria and beyond.

GIG Logistics’ Chief Operating Officer (COO), Ayodele Adenaike, told Ripples Nigeria that, for a start, the company has signed up partners in the Lagos area to execute the new solution.

“We are signing up partners who have cars, vans, trucks, bikes and other types of vehicles instead of purchasing the number we would need to expand our operations. So, when a request is made, the app locates the nearest partner to the request and allocates the pickup.

“We also have security built into the process to ensure the shipment is safe and gets to where it is headed undamaged on the same day,” he said.

Market watchers believe the App would be a great relief for small businesses bogged down by the rigours of time spent on parcelling and distribution to retail outlets.
