KILLINGS: Herdsmen are testing the will of Yorubas --OPC boss Adams

Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba land, Iba Gani Adams, has appealed to the Federal government to reduce the duties and tariffs paid on imported goods.

Speaking at the weekend, during the swearing-in and send forth ceremony of the newly and outgoing executive of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) in Lagos, Adams, said it is pertinent for the federal government to listen to the cries of Nigerians in the Diaspora and reduce the freight paid on imported goods.

“I am a regular traveler and I can understand the pain Nigerians abroad feel before they could bring their goods into the country. On this note, I want to appeal to the federal government to reduce the tariffs, the cost of importing goods into the country is too high and Nigerians abroad are finding it difficult to send their goods into the country, and this has also affected their businesses. We can only improve on our local production if there is an enabling environment for investors”.
