Seun Kuti bags Grammy Award nomination

Ever vocal Seun Kuti, scion of Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti has been nominated for the 61st Grammy Awards scheduled to be staged next year.

The father of one took to Instagram page to announce the good news stating that his collection titled ‘Black Times’ has been nominated in the Best World Music Album category.

“All my Grammy voting friends. Y’all know the vibes #getthesax.” Seun wrote on his Instagram page announcing his nomination.

Seun Kuti now becomes the eleventh Nigerian to bag a Grammy nomination and he follows in the footsteps of Sikiru Adepoju (2009), Timaya & Morgan Heritage (2017), and Kah-Lo (2016).

Other are; Femi Kuti (2003, 2010, 2012 & 2013), Chamillionaire (2007), Wizkid & Drake (2017), Kevin Olusola (2015 & 2016), Sade Adu (1986, 1994, 2002 & 2011), Seal (1996 & 2011) and King Sunny Ade (1983 & 1998).
