2019: Atiku, Ezekwesili finally sign peace accord

The Presidential flag bearer of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar has pledged strategic support for the creative industry if elected into power.

Atiku’s pledge was contained in his recently released policy document which has a delivery time line from 2019 to 2025.

The former Vice President also added that he will implement policies that will foster the development of the entertainment industry and protect practitioners against piracy.

He pledged to “enact right policies and legislations that will provide the latest infrastructure, financial and business development facilities.

Atiku noted that the policy document seeks to “create interventions schemes focused on offering subsidy to the creative arts industry in order to promote stand-alone businesses”.

Recall days ago that, Pretty Okafor, a factional leader of the Performing Musician Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN) opined that the Creative Sector has been ignored long enough, while contributing significantly to the country’s GDP.

To that end, Okafor has urged members of the union to choose wisely while exercising their constitutional right to vote during the next general election and support candidates that will address the issues plaguing the Creative Sector.
