8 directors sacked as Kachikwu begins cleanup of NNPC

The much anticipated cleanup and re-organisation of the nation’s oil company, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) seems to have begun, as the newly appointed Group Managing Director, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, has sacked eight Group Executive Directors (GED) of the corporation.

In addition, Kachikwu is said to have reduced the number of directorates to four, and replaced the sacked GEDs.

Ripples gathered that the new directorates and their Group Executive Directors are Refining and Engineering – Dr. M.K Baru; Exploration and Production – Denis Nnamdi; Commercial and Investment – Bankole Komolafe, and Finance – Isiaka AbdulRazak.

The four new GEDs were until today group general managers.

The GEDs who were relieved of their duties are: Mr. Ian Udoh, Group Executive Director, Refining & Petrochemicals, Mr. Adebayo Ibirogba, Group Executive Director, Engineering and Technical; Dr David Ige, Group Executive Director, Gas& Power and Dr. Attahir Yusuf, Group Executive Director, Business Development.

Others are: Dr.Dan Efebo, Group Executive Director, Corporate Services; Mr. Bernard Otti, Group, Executive Director, Finance & Accounts
