According to Mr. Zubairu Muazu, the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police, the suspects who were arrested for various offences ranging from cultism, kidnapping, armed robbery, stealing of children, child trafficking, among other crimes, will soon be charged to court.

Muazu while speaking with newsmen added that there has been peace in the state in the last two months following the arrest of the criminals.

Mauzu said; “We witnessed peaceful party primaries across the state. Armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism, child stealing/selling, rape and other heinous crimes were tackled head on. It was indeed a battle fought and won with the support of the good people of Akwa Ibom State.”

The CP also noted that the command was determined to sustain the tempo in crime fighting and protection of lives and property.

“Our efforts in crime busting have been intensified through our community policing drive, intensive stop and search, vehicular and foot patrols and, of course, ‘Operation Purge.’”
