Buhari swears in 8 permanent secretaries

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday officially swore-in eight new permanent secretaries  at the Presidential Villa, Council Chamber, Abuja.

The new appointees are directors chosen to represent eight states of the federation In tune with the federal character.

The new permanent secretaries are, Oluwuyiwa Enitan (Osun), Mohammed Dikwa (Borno), Ajani Madaline (Delta), and Festus Yesufu Dawodu (Nasarawa).

Others are Nnamdi Maurice (Imo), Bakare Wadinga (Adamawa), Babatunde Lawal (Lagos) and Ernest Afolabi Umahi (Edo).

While reminding them of the oath taken, President Buhari applauded the new permanent secretaries and charged them to help the government tackle its problems through implementation of its policies.

He noted with disappointment that succeeding governments damaged the checks and balances in the civil service, but guaranteed he would deliver on the three focal areas of security, economy and fight against corruption through his administration.

President Buhari charged the new Permanent Secretaries to be above board in their functions and expressed his obligation to the wellbeing of the civil service.
