The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has approved March 26 as date for Nigeria to host Egypt in the 2017 AFCON qualifier billed for the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.

The match was originally scheduled for March 23 but the Nigeria Football Federation requested to push the clash forward by three days and it was granted by CAF.

Thus, the first leg will be held in Nigeria on March 26th. The return leg will be held in Egypt on the 29th of the same month.

NFF General Secretary, Sanusi Mohammed, while confirming the change, also revealed that the Ahmadu Bello stadium, which has a sitting capacity of 16,000, is ready to host the match.

“We have seen every part of the stadium, and it seems ready for the Eagles-Pharaohs clash, but there is still some work to be done to ensure we have a perfect atmosphere come March 26th,” Sanusi told the NFF official website.

The Pharaohs are first in their group, with six points from two matches. Nigeria is in second place, with four points from two matches. The other two teams in the group are Tanzania and Chad.
