Ezenwa eyes 2nd experience under Rohr in Togo showdown

Super Eagles goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa who made his debut under manager Gernot Rohr in the Corsica friendly last Friday is looking forward to having a second and better experience against Togo on Thursday.

The Eagles will be facing the Hawks in an international friendly in Paris, France, as part of preparations for their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa in Uyo.

The FC IfeanyiUbah shot stopper said he was “very happy” to have played his “debut match under the new manager, Gernot Rohr.” He told Supersport that “the memory is certain to linger on in me for a long time to come.”

“We have settled down in Paris waiting for the matchday on Thursday to face the Hawks of Togo,” he said.

“I’m quite keen to know what the second experience will feel like against much more familiar foes, the Hawks of Togo.

“That match will be an acid test on our readiness to confront the South Africans in the June 10 Afcon clash in Uyo.”

The former Sunshine Star goalie is one of the goalkeepers invited in a 23-man squad by the Technical Adviser for the crucial match against South Africa on June 10 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

The other goalkeeper invited are Daniel Akpeyi of Chippa United and Dele Alampasu of Cesarense.
