In from Nifemi Daniel …
Former Super Eagles striker and Arsenal legend, Nwankwo Kanu, has backed Arsenal to bounce back from their opening day Premier League defeat to West Ham United.
The 2-0 loss came as a shock to the Gunners, who were widely expected to get a win at the Emirates Stadium after excelling in preseason, and also recording a remarkable result by defeating Premier League champions, Chelsea, a week ago at Wembley in the Community Shield.
The two-time African Footballer of the Year who was present at London’s Emirates Stadium on Sunday, was thrilled with the affection shown to him by fans of the English FA Cup champions, expressed disappointment on the negative start to the new campaign by his former club.

“What’s going on arsenal? We are tensed right now. Come on arsenal. Bad result, but there is another day, so come on Arsenal,” tweeted Kanu.
The Gunners, who were hammered by West Ham United courtesy of goals from Cheikhou Kouyate and Mauro Zarate, next face another London-based team, Crystal Palace, at Selhurst Park on Sunday.

They were merely made to face the reality. They may have under-rated West Hammers, and were shocked with the outcome. They will get back on track with the next match in Selhurst Park. This time, it is going to be tougher for them. But, they want to be Champions, so they have to beat even the unbeatable. I see Crystal Palace going into the match the way Arsenal went into the match against Hammers.
