Super Eagles winger, Victor Moses made the difference for Chelsea against Burnley with a commendable performance that keeps alive the Blues’ hopes of a Premier League top-four finish.

The goal was Moses’ fourth goal of the season and it proved decisive for Chelsea at Turf Moor on Thursday night.

Kevin Long’s own goal had put the visitors ahead in the first half, before Ashley Barnes deflected a shot on 64 minutes to give the hosts hope of earning a point.

But there came a perfect response by Chelsea when a cross came in from the left, Olivier Giroud attempted a scorpion kick, missed, but the ball ran through to Moses who squeezed to restore the lead in the 69th minute.

Speaking after the game, Moses said: “I thought we deserved the three points today from start to finish. It is not an easy place to come and win. We want to take each game as it comes.

“We can’t write ourselves off. We just need to finish as strongly as we can.”

With the win, Chelsea have now narrowed the gap behind fourth-placed Tottenham to five points, and could increase the pressure on the London rivals if they win at Swansea City upper weekend.

In another Premier League game at the King Power Stadium, Super Eagles midfielder and forward, Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho were both in action for Leicester who played goalless against Southampton.
