Police arraigns three men for alleged N22m electricity theft in Ogun
Police on Tuesday arraigned three employees of ATC Nigeria Base Station in Ogijo, Ogun State, were at the State Magistrate Court in Sagamu for allegedly diverting electricity worth over N22 million.
The accused – Sikiru Oyedokun (50), Oladimeji Monsuru (46), and Abraham Ebenezer (33) – were arraigned for alleged fraudulent electricity appropriation and unlawful diversion.
According to the charge sheet, to the defendants committed the offence at ATC Nigeria Base Station, Ogijo between September 17, 2019 and this month.
The defence counsel urged the court to grant his clients bail on lenient terms.

He argued that the accused persons were just staff of the company and not the owners of the establishment where the alleged theft occurred.
Magistrate Olayinka Idowu granted the defendants bail in the sum of N7 million each with one surety in like sum.
He said the surety must reside in Ogun State, own landed property within the court’s jurisdiction, and present evidence of tax payments to the Ogun State government.
The magistrate adjourned the case till January 9 and 10, 2025, for trial.
