The Niger State governor, Alh Abubakar Sani Bello seemed to have begun a probe into the administration of his predecessor, Muazu Babngida Aliyu by setting up two committees to look into the finances and infrastructural contracts in the state between 2007 and 2015.

The APC chairman in the state, Mohammed Jibrin Imam chairs the infrastructural contracts committee while Alh Mohammed Nda is in charge of the finance committee.

The governor stated that the infrastructural committee was to look into the infrastructure inherited, the viabilities and the inventory of all the liabilities by connecting with the relevant ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs).

The governor explained that the committee is to ascertain the financial assets and liabilities of the state and local governments as at May 29, 2015 by verifying “all revenue accruing to the state and local governments from the federation account allocation committee (FAAC), VAT, NNPC, argumentation exchange rate devaluation, ecological fund, excess crude account, Sure-P, MDGs development partner grants and internally generated revenue (IGR) from 2007 to May 2015.”

Meanwhile, Niger state government said that it has recovered six vehicles allegedly taken away without due diligence of the law by former governor Aliyu.

Chief Press Secretary, to the governor, Dr. Ibrahim Dooba, said Friday in Minna that the vehicles were recovered from the former governor and his wife Hajiya Jummai Babangida Aliyu on Tuesday at the Abuja home of Aliyu.
