Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr says he is satisfied with the work done by his team after they thrashed Seychelles 3-0 on Saturday.

The match, played at Victoria, was their second game of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Goals by Ahmed Musa, Chidozie Awaziem and Odion Ighalo secured the three points for Nigeria, and revived their hopes of qualifying for the tournament in Cameroon.

The team had lost their opening game 2-0 against South Africa in Uyo last year.

“We are very satisfied with the result as the important thing was to win three points,” Rohr told reporters after the game.

“It was not easy as our opponents were very combative and aggressive. We started well though in the second half we found it hard playing against the wind.

“Our opponents also worked hard and we never underestimated them,” added the German boss.

The other game of the group between South Africa and Libya ended goalless – which puts both teams at the top of the group on 4 points each.

The Eagles still have away games against south Africa and Libya in future, but will be hosting Libya in their matchday 3 of the qualifiers next month.
