The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Solomon Arase has stated, that investigation into allegations that the Senate Standing rules used for the election of principal officers were forged, has entered the forensic screening and analysis stage.

According to him, the probe is still ongoing, and it is wrong for anybody to say the preliminary report of the investigation submitted, was inconclusive.

The IGP spoke during a working visit to the headquarters of the FCT Police Command at the weekend.

He said, “Right now, we are carrying out a forensic screening and analysis of our findings based on the allegations that the documents were doctored. Until we arrive at the end, we cannot close the investigation”. He noted

The IGP said people should not rush and conclude on an allegation as sensitive as the matter in question adding that in investigations, there are usually no time frames until the final outcome is arrived at.
