Babachir Lawal’s Suspension: Praise and Concerns

Any doubts regarding President Buhari’s intention to gun for the presidency in 2019 were cleared on Tuesday by Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal.

Buhari, who has been away in London for nearly a month on medical vacation, is barely two years into his first tenure as President.

However, Babachir, while addressing a rally in Abuja organized by a pro-Buhari group, Citizens Support for Good Governance in Nigeria, alluded to the president spending 8 years in office.

Said he, “The foundation being laid by the government is solid and nobody, even after the president has finished his eight years, can ever take us back to the pre-2015 days. This, I can assure you.”

Absolving the Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) administration of any direct responsibility for the prostrate state of the economy, the SGF said, “Baba Buhari didn’t anticipate the problem that we are in. The people who caused this problem are the ones challenging the government. I tell you that they will fail in the name of God. Shamelessly, they accused the president of not performing; and in fact, some of them wished him dead. But I can assure you that by the grace of God, he will outlive all of them.”

The APC government, Babachir noted, is confident of reinventing the Nigerian economy and returning it to its prosperous days.

“I assure you that by the grace of God, in the next one year, Nigeria will have a booming economy. We know what they were doing to try to sabotage the activities of government to bring Nigeria back to economic prosperity but the president is also aware. They will fail. Nigeria will never go back to the position it was before 2015,” he said.

Babachir, who is regarded as one of President Buhari’s closest allies, has been embroiled in a N200 million contract scam for which the Nigerian Senate wants him fired from his post as SGF. Buhari has, however, countered that he has no sufficient reasons to sack the SGF after conducting in-house investigations.

“The people who caused this problem are the ones challenging the government. I tell you that they will fail in the name of God” I so much disgust it when these politicians invite God to their political matters, if they believe in God, Nigerians won’t be suffering this hard. Everything they will be doing to the citizens will be from their church and God-mind

But Satan and demons are always at work to turn them against GOD. That is why we need to always pray for them as well. They have the mind to do good but Satan won’t allow.

What Nigeria is currently facing is artificial and was caused by some people, but they have failed. I strongly believe Buhari is capable of solving all problems in the country and I’d like to see him run for good eight years, what he is doing in Nigeria is impressive, the other parties should not be allowed to tamper with it. Buhari has taken it upon himself to build Nigeria for the better

What I have discovered in this administration is that the so called leaders are not seeing the situation in the very way they appear to the common man. To some of Buhari’s men, Buhari is a god that has made all things perfect.

How they managed to come about that is something I fannot explain fully. If you say our leaders are blind, I will totally agree with you.

Babachir is a sycophant.he is saying this so buhari can overlook his alleged corrupt acts. Well to me, babachir is only noticing the imminent death of buhari if he should recontest in 2019 and that is even if buhari gets to finish the first tenure .

Hmmm. The man won’t die. He will surely vie again and nothing can stop his re-winning bid. So buhari will finish both his first tenure and second tenure successfully.

I dont understand why Nigerians are waiting for 2019 for it to get better, if there will be any change let it happen now then we decide if we will proceed to further the contracts with PMB. This administration can go ahead to reveal what they have in stock/plan for Nigerians by hiring a real and standard economist to give us breakdown or prediction. Dont put God in this matter at all(i no want hear by God grace) na this God una dey take scatter the everything. We need proof nor word of mouth
